Iโm Josh Taylor, founder of Long Branch Strategies. I started the firm in 2018 to give organizations the steady, bipartisan communications counsel I spent my career delivering inside government and politics.
I began in Texas politics and spent eight years as communications director for Congressman Chet Edwards, who chaired the House subcommittee that funds military construction and veterans programs. In 2008 I directed communications for Obama for America in Texas.
From 2011 to 2015 I served at the Department of Veterans Affairs, first as Press Secretary and then as Deputy and Acting Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs. I led the departmentโs public affairs office, and in 2015 I received its Meritorious Service Award. From 2015 to 2018 I worked at two Washington, DC-based firms, Third Way and Edwards, Davis Stover & Associates, where I became a partner, before founding Long Branch. Since 2016 I have advised organizations as a senior strategic communications consultant.
